MOOKEERF Coax Connectors & Adapters
Connectors for building your own coax: crimp-on PL-259, SO-239, N, SMA, BNC and TNC plugs matched to the cable they fit (RG58-size, RG8X-size or LMR400-size), clamp and solder PL-259s, panel-mount jacks, and F-type compression connectors for RG6 and RG11.
Adapters join connectors that do not match: PL-259 to SO-239 right angles, barrels and bulkheads, N to UHF, FME to PL-259, and 75-ohm BNC barrels, elbows and splitters for SDI video.

How to fit a PL-259 crimp connector
Based on the strip-length drawing and parts list on the RG58 PL-259 crimp connector listing. A coax crimp tool with the right die is needed.

In the bag: connector body with gold-plated centre pin, crimp ferrule and heat-shrink tube for each connector.

Slide on the sleeves
Put the heat-shrink tube and then the crimp ferrule over the cable before you strip anything.

Strip the jacket
Remove about 33 mm of outer jacket without nicking the braid.

Expose the centre conductor
Fold the braid back and cut the dielectric so roughly 18 mm of it remains, leaving the centre conductor bare beyond it.

Fit the centre pin
Slide the pin onto the bare conductor and crimp or solder it in place.

Seat the body
Push the connector body on until the pin shows in the tip and the braid lies over the knurled rear of the body.

Crimp the ferrule
Slide the ferrule (about 13.5 mm long) over the braid against the body and crimp it with the tool.

Seal it
Pull the heat-shrink over the joint and shrink it; tape outdoor joints for extra weather protection.
